Every procedure carries risk
Surgery and dental procedures carry risks including, depending on the procedure, infection, bleeding, poor healing, scarring, nerve injury, adverse reaction to anaesthetic, blood clots, implant or graft failure, and a result that does not meet your expectations. Your treating clinician must explain the risks specific to your procedure and your medical history before you consent.

Timeframes and typical ranges given on this site are illustrative. Individual healing, anatomy, age, general health and how closely aftercare is followed all affect outcomes. No honest provider guarantees a medical result.
Before you travel
Discuss your plans with your own doctor or dentist, especially if you take regular medication or have any ongoing health condition. Arrange travel and medical insurance that covers what you are actually doing, and check what it excludes — many standard policies exclude planned treatment abroad and its complications.

If you experience severe pain, heavy bleeding, chest pain, breathlessness, signs of infection or any symptom that alarms you, seek urgent medical attention where you are. Contact your local emergency services first — then tell us, so we can get your surgical team involved.
